Cloud Gaming Service Lets Gamers Everywhere Play the Latest and Hottest Titles

Playkey ICO aims to build a decentralized blockchain-powered cloud gaming platform

What is your company about, what’s your mission?

Egor Gurjev, Founder and CEO of Playkey: Playkey is a cloud gaming service that allows gamers all over the world to purchase top-rated triple-A video games and play the latest and hottest titles — even the most modern and system-intensive ones— on most popular devices, including low-spec PCs and laptops and MacOS-based machines. Games are available “as is” with all of their specific features, including Multiplayer, social features and achievements. All that is needed is a decent internet connection. In fact, a 7 Mbps connection is enough to provide a good gaming experience.

Now with Playkey ICO we are going to build a decentralized blockchain-powered cloud gaming platform, allowing anyone to play unlimited top-rated games from around the world without downloads or installations. Miners will be able to contribute their computing power, acting as cloud service providers, and will be paid in cryptocurrency through the PKT token. The PKT token will be available through a public token sale. Our mission is to make top-notched video games available for gamers with low-end PCs all over the world.

Security: How secure is the blockchain and/or smart contract?

Gurjev: PKT tokens are to be implemented on the public Ethereum blockchain in accordance with the ERC20 (Ethereum Token Standard Tokens), the second system, in the world in terms of total market capitalization that guarantee security

Participation: What are investors getting when they participate in the Playkey token sale? What is the token’s utility?

Gurjev: No doubt, the game industry is the most profitable segment of the entertainment industry nowadays, proved by numbers below. According to 48 pages of Newzoo’s research in 2015 the profit of game marker was more than $90 billion dollars.

The situation is very similar to 2016 when profit was around $100 billion, but there is one interesting aspect to look at.

The game market is growing by 8.5% per year while the mobile games is 23.7% (not including handheld growth by 24.1% and tablet games growth by 6.4%.) Smartphones get more powerful core which gives extremely successful results in mobile graphics. The following situation gives a wide range of perspectives for developers to experiment with ideas that seemed to be a dream before.

In 2017 the expected profit of game market is $108.9 milliards which is higher than 2016’s profit by 7.8%.

We aim to take our own part on game industry market. Instead of yearly spendings on updating the PC, gamers have an alternative option of streaming P2P-model. P2P decision of Playkey will allow owners of top video cards earn more comparing to mining cryptocurrency and gamers would be able to play anywhere with an Internet connection. This formula is, therefore, more profitable than buying and upgrading their own PC.

Playkey Token - PKT -  is a utility token, it means any PKT holder may use the token to pay for Playkey cloud gaming service (short time rent of Playkey GPU powered servers to play video games).

Accounting & Legal: How is accounting done for tokens and what do they represent? What are the legal risks of the project?

Gurjev: PKT is a utility token. It is used to pay for the service inside the decentralized cloud gaming platform and it doesn’t imply reaping dividends. So what kind of risks are we speaking about then?

Community, Management & Team: Who is building this? How strong, large and capable is the team and the community?

Gurjev: The Playkey team consists of 45 experienced R&D specialists including developers, gaming strategists, testers and marketing experts. The core team has been developing the technology and building Playkey for 4 years. It  is available since 2012 in EMEA and CIS countries on playkey.net. Playkey’s platform is used by 2 million gamers every month on 100+ Nvidia Grid powered servers based in London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and Moscow. Well, it is already a quite large community, but we are targeting to the world market.

Earnings: What will the project earn or what will be done using the project, coin, token or network? What will be transacted on it?

Gurjev: PKT is the only mean to pay for Playkey service, i.e. to have an access to Playkey service user needs to have PKT which he/she transfers to the miner who provides the service Demand for the Playkey service creates demand for PKT tokens. Moreover, the number of tokens is limited, but service demand has a potential for a growth => increase of demand for service leads to increase of PKT price on the market and vice versa.  Miners are not obliged to sell PKT tokens immediately after receiving them. And Playkey as a miner and as a licensor of software solution (miner ought to pay some share of their PKT revenue to Playkey) may absorb supplies of PKT token on the market to decrease its price volatility

Supply & Demand: Is supply of the coin fixed or limited? How is supply decided?

Gurjev: PKT is a fixed-supply cryptocurrency. It is long-term non-inflationary. Units of PKT are fungible and transferable, and they are expected to trade on cryptocurrency exchanges. The supply of PKT tokens is formed:

• By miners earned tokens providing the service;

• Other PKT token holders (ICO participants, bounty, employees, Playkey Foundation, etc.).

To avoid the situations, when the gamer acquired some number of PKT tokens to get an exact volume of service, but no miner ready to provide the service for this number of tokens, it is planned to provide a quotation for the service from miners simultaneous with the purchase of token. Later Playkey Foundation plans to acquire and install servers with the subsequent sale of these servers to miners for PKT tokens as well as to launch new convergent services. This will create additional demand for PKT tokens in future.

Usability: What will the coin/token be used for? Is it a fuel, rail, mechanism, share, API key or something else?

Gurjev: PKT is used within the decentralized cloud gaming platform as we already spoke before.

Industry/Institutional Backing: Who in the industry is working on this? Does the project have notable partners, developers, joint ventures, investors or customers?

Gurjev: Playkey  has a strong background in a digital world already and collaborates closely with leading game publishers including Ubisoft, Bethesda, Wargaming Capcom, Namco and etc, and is backed by a large European VC fund.

Technical: What are the technical details? Does it work now? How?

Gurjev: Yes,  we have already working successful product - you can try it on your own on playkey.net site. Basing on streaming technology and our technical development we already made a dream - to play cool and high-demanding games on obsolete PCs or even MACs - to come true!

X FACTOR: What’s your secret sauce. What other evaluation factors do you want to add?

Gurjev: Our secret sauce and the inner engine is our passion about the video games and the aim to create a better digital world!
